about

"For Spacious Skies" is an original triptych of Jazz Americana composed by David Gleason. It is intended to portray optimism, ingenuity, unity and freedom. Performed on piano and upright bass, this music is folksy and idyllic, yet harmonically modern and freely interpreted. The suite is paired with two additional pieces that compliment the Americana theme. "West Albany Blues" is an original blues with vintage styling and the final selection of the collection is a new arrangement of George Gershwin's "Summertime."
